In some respects, the planetary spirit many be thought of as the negative aspect of a planet's energy, while the planetary intelligences embody the positive aspects of a planet's energy. Through the many centuries of scholarship on this topic, these positive and negative traits have been conflated into [[angel]]s and [[demon]]s, although they are not explicitly good or evil.

==Use in ceremonial magic==
Planetary spirits are invoked through [[ritual magic]], often through the creation of astrological [[talisman]]s.

Most [[magician]]s view these spirits (and the intelligences which control them) as malefic in their natures, preferring to call them "planetary demons." Most ceremonial magicians are extremely wary of working with the planetary spirits and [[planetary intelligence]]s.
