Graphiel
Graphiel (also Gradiel) "Power of God" is the name of the planetary intelligence of Mars which rules over the planet when it enters Aries and Scorpio.
His name equals 325 when using Gematria, allowing it to fit on a martian magic square.
Abilities
Graphiel is the primary intelligence called upon in the Ritual to Attract a Lover from the Grimorium Verum. Its association with Mars makes it an entity capable of great force and the essence of this ritual is to compel a person to fall in love with you.
He also rules over the daemon Barzabel (the planetary spirit of Mars) and is in turn ruled by either the Archangel Gabriel or Kamael, depending on the source.
Textual History
Graphiel is listed as the Planetary Intelligence of Mars in the second of the Three Books of Occult Philosophy by Agrippa (1533). The same information is copied into MS Harley 6482, published more recently as A Treatise of Angel Magic, from an older document by Thomas Rudd (1583-1656) around 1699.
In Aleister Crowley's Equinox Volume 1, Issue 9 (1913) Graphiel is in the Evocation of Bartzabel, which names the Archangel Kamael as his ruler instead of Gabriel. His Magick in Theory and In Practice (1929) also mentions Graphiel, describing him as knowing all there is to know in martial matters, and helpful in little else when performing divination.
