Difference between revisions of "Graphiel"

Graphiel is listed as the Planetary Intelligence of Mars in the second of the ''[[Three Books of Occult Philosophy]]'' by [[Heinrich Cornelius Agrippa|Agrippa]] (1533). The same information is copied into ''MS Harley 6482'', published more recently as ''A Treatise of Angel Magic'', from an older document by [[Thomas Rudd]] (1583-1656) around 1699. In [[Aleister Crowley]]'s ''Equinox'' Volume 1, Issue 9 (1913) Graphiel is in the ''Evocation of Bartzabel'', which names the [[Archangels|Archangel]] Kamael as his ruler instead of Gabriel. His ''Magick in Theory and In Practice'' (1929) also mentions Graphiel, describing him as knowing all there is to know in martial matters, and helpful in little else when performing [[divination]].
