Theomagia
Theomagia, or the Temple of Wisdome: in Three Parts, Spiritual, Celestial, and Elemental is a three-volume treatise on astrology, geomancy, and the creation of talismans written by John Heydon and published in 1663.
Content
Volume One
In the first volume, Heydon describes the twelve parts of the world, the genii "Rulers" which govern them, the "Ideas" which are subservient to them, how they relate to the figures of Geomancy, the basics of the same, and how to use these in conjunction with the Lunar mansions and positioning of the Sun to create Talismans. The volume also includes a section on how to read the stars through the use of Astromancy.
Volume Two
The second volume goes into greater detail about the twelve Houses of Geomancy (which correspond to the twelve parts of the world described in the previous volume), what each of the geomantic figure means in each of them, and what different combinations of figures mean in the roles of the Witnesses and the Judge. It also lays out a system of geomantic Oneiromancy which takes includes astrological considerations.
Volume Three
The third volume starts off with a few things to take into account when interpreting your charts, including a brief chapter on what each figure means in relation to the appearance of someone. After this, it goes through each House of Geomancy in greater detail, providing examples of questions which relate to their domains. Here, Heydon starts using an Astrology-inspired sort of geomantic chart which takes into account the figures, Houses, and the Ruler/Idea genii which govern the other two. He also inserts a number of charts between questions which show the numerical values of each geomantic figure and the Hebrew and Astromantic characters they correspond to.
How to make charts for days, weeks, and months is also addressed in a few sections which are inserted with examples of charts Heydon had made for various nobles and a chart which shows an alternative version of the Alphabet of the Angels. He also describes how to contact and identify your guardian genius and how to contact some of those described throughout the book before various chapters about the nature of the human soul and various more examples of nativity charts he had made for nobles.
