Tepy-a Khentet is the 10th decan of the main decanal stars of Egyptian astrology. The decan has its heliacal rise during the week of IV Akhet 1-10 in the Egyptian calendar. Its name is translated as "recovered senses."
Divination meaning
The Egyptian Star Oracle connects this card with Temperance and The Star from the traditional Tarot, especially the principle of balance. Telling the truth can be difficult, even if you are talking to yourself. Sometimes, we deceive ourselves into embracing a fantasy rather than face cold, hard reality. This card may be a wake up call to yourself to stop harmful self-talk, reject denial, and make a truthful appraisal of your circumstances.
This card depicts Anubis in the act of weighing a heart to determine if its owner has lived a truthful life.
Characteristics
In ritual work, Khentet was the goddess of the East, and thus, this decan, or the entire group itself, may be called upon as one of the cardinal directions. Khentet as goddess of life is further attested in the chapter of the Book of the Dead that deals with the weighing of the heart: “May I endure on earth, not die in the west, and be a blessed spirit here.” So this decan not only embodies truth and life, but repels the dreaded second death.
The Esna zodiac ceilings depict this decan as a human figure with the feather of Maat (truth) as its head. The Dendera D zodiac ceiling gives its mineral as hematite.
It is ruled over by Hapy, the son of Horus depicted as a baboon.
