Lorri Davis
Lorri Davis is an author, film producer, and practicing magician. She is the wife of occultist and author Damien Echols.
Biography
Lorri was born and raised in West Virginia. She was educated as a landscape architect and worked in England and New York City.
She met Damien Echols in 1996 while he was in prison after being wrongfully accused and convicted of triple homicide as one of the West Memphis Three. They communicated through letters and short prison visits without being able to touch freely, before being married in a Buddhist ceremony at Tucker Maximum Security Unit in Tucker, Arkansas, in 1999.
In 1998, Lorri relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas to be closer to Damien. She began coordinating an intensive effort to have his conviction overturned and secure his release from prison. Her full-time job became raising funds for his defense and increasing the public's awareness of the innocence of the West Memphis Three.
With the help of a number of Hollywood celebrities, notably Pearl Jam lead vocalist Eddie Vedder, director Peter Jackson, and actor Johnny Depp, Damien was released from prison in 2011 after spending 18 years on death row.
She produced the 2012 documentary film West of Memphis telling the story of their struggle to overturn Damien's wrongful conviction.
