Angels are a rank of angel in the hierarchy of angels. It is the 9th and lowest order of angels. According to Meteorologica Cosmica by Robert Fludd, this choir is ruled over by the Archangel Gabriel.

Duties

Angels in this choir are the ones most concerned with the affairs of men and women. Within the category of the angels, there are many different kinds, with different functions. The angels are sent as messengers to humanity. Angels are the messengers of Divine light who descend from the Heavens to minister to mortals. They have diverse powers and roles, and some are given specific tasks. They are capable of performing great miracles and unleashing tremendous destruction.

Textual basis

The choir of angels is mentioned in the Bible in Matthew 28:

And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven. His countenance was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men. The angel said unto the women: Fear not, for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.
