The demon Vassago as depicted in the Occult Tarot.

Vassago (Hebrew: ושאגו) is a Goetic demon. It is the third spirit of the 72 demons summoned by King Solomon according to the Lesser Key of Solomon. In the hierarchy of Hell, Vassago is a Prince.

He is ruled over by the Kabbalistic angel Sitael.

General description

His abode is around the Tower of Babylon, and there he is seen like a flame outside. His head however is like that of a great night hawk.

Occultist Travis McHenry equates Vassago with the demon Pruflas, a spirit that is not listed in the Lesser Key of Solomon, but is found in Johann Weyer's book, Pseudomonarchia Daemonum as the fourth demon.

Abilities

Vassage is the author and promoter of discord, war, quarrels, and falsehood. He may not be admitted into every place. Astrologically, this spirit signifies ingratitude.

This spirit is of a good nature, like Agares, and his office is to declare things past and to come, and to discover all things hidden or lost. He governs 26 Legions of spirits.

He is a servant demon of those born March 30 - April 3.
