Textual history

Och is described as an olympic spirit in several grimoires collectively called the Grimoire of Armadel.

The 1750 manuscript Regis Salomonis calls this spirit by the name "XENIREPHITROS" and provides an alternate seal for it and the other olympic spirits.

Primary texts which describe Och and the spirit's attributes include:

  • Arbatel of Magick (1575)
  • Regis Salomonis Septem Sigilla Planetarum (1750)
  • Magia Naturalis et Innaturalis (1849)

Abilities

Och is an alchemist, physician, and magician. He has under him 36,536 legions of spirits who serve him by centuries. Och and his spirits teach the nature of the angels.

He imparts wisdom, gives familiar spirits, and creates medicine. As an alchemist, Och is capable of converting any substance into the purest of metals or into precious stones. Och can also bestow gold and a purse overflowing with gold.

The ideal day and time for invoking Och is on a Sunday at daybreak.

Seal

Summoning sigil of Och from Regis Salomonis

The seal of Och should be drawn in green ink.

His sigil teaches the nature of angels, as well as who is the promised Messiah of Israel, what kind of prophet he may be, and what miracles can be performed by the Messiah for the welfare of his people. This sigil contains mysteries of geometric symbolism within it.

The characters of this spirit are drawn in green, red, yellow, and black colors.

Och causes the possessor of his characters to be worshipped as a god by the kings of the whole world.

In popular culture

"Megalith Och" is the name of a super rare card in the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. It depicts two angels joined together, one white and one black.
